Ending the Cycle of Child Labor & Creating a Sustainable Future

India’s rural population approximates around 70% of the total population. Per statistics, the Indian literacy rate grew around 74% in 2011, however, it is well below the world average literacy rate of 84%.  India has a dubious distinction of being home to the largest child labor force in the world, a report produced by the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions- estimating that there is over 60 million child laborers in India.

Most of the children in the rural areas of Telugu States, as well as in the majority of rural India, have been subjected to the unfair world of child labor. Generation after generation, these children spend their precious time and energy as laborers and are often seen working in factories, construction sites, as tea vendors, in hotels as cleaners, carpet weavers, firecracker units and  the list just goes on . Some children are forced to work up to 18 hours a day, often never leaving the confines of the factory or loom sheds for just a mere few hundred rupees. Some children even work as much as 7 days a week. These children (aged 5-17)  are forced to support their families instead of attending school, furthering their education, learning skills for their future, and also playing and having fun.

Keeping in view the “World Against Child Labour Day” Support Girl Child Foundation emphasizes on quality education for all children, not to just fend for themselves, or engage in a more economically-abundant society, but a society that produces children to explore their talents, supports their abilities, encourages equal opportunities for poor girls,teaching them to care about each other and in a diverse society, where everyone can freely participate in everything.

Our one of the prestigious “TeluguThalli Project” activity is Education Support to the economically deprived & bright Girl Students in Schools Across 2 Telugu States. We always believe that if we help to provide excellent education to the underprivileged girl students they can only stand on their own after completion of the education when they enter into their professional career. The value of education is not quantifiable. Thus we always search for the economically disadvantaged & who have very much interest in the education to provide timely educational material support. We are very much thankful for your kindness & online donation for our charity to sponsor poor girl children studying in Municipal memorial High Schools by giving education material support.

We visit schools regularly for the necessities & immediate need for the bright girl students for their education.  We discuss with girls & teachers for the education needs. As per their desire we sponsor education material to prevent dropouts from schools. Many of the girl children are lacking of timely educational material support as they belongs to below poverty line, and children parents are not able to give them proper education sponsorship in time. Instead of sending to schools, parents sending the girl children to work as domestic servant maids.

We regularly monitor & conducting motivational speech to the parents and explaining about the importance of education & career. Education Sponsorship is providing to I to X Class and 100 poor girl students benefiting including Long & Short Note books, Pens, Writing pad, Sketches, Pencils, Erasers, School Back Pack, Branded New Uniforms, Shoes, Socks.

By helping poor girl children with timely education support, are progressing well in their studies and getting good marks in the internal examinations. They expressed gratitude and thanks to you as you made online donation for the education sponsorship. The absence has been reduced among the girl children. With this timely education support to especially girl students, the school teachers shown expressed happiness and motivating girl students about the importance of education in their career.
